Open Source ERP choice for 2022

Choosing the right ERP system for your needs is often comes accompanied by fears or uncertainties. However solving problem needs experts. For many years of developing and implementing ERPs and Business solutions. I thought I must share the list of free and open-source ERPs to help the developers quickly adopt/implement the business solutions for their organizations.

Top 12 Open Source Business Applications / Suite / ERP

The list of open-source ERPs will be more, but I have chosen the top 12 from my personal experience. Depending upon the organization type, your requirements, platform, and IT resource availability, you can choose the one that fits your business requirements.

Apache OfBiz

OFBiz is an open-source product for the automation of enterprise processes that includes framework components and business applications for ERP, CRM, E-Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Resource Planning, Enterprise Asset Management.

iDempiere

iDempiere Business Suite, also known as OSGi + ADempiere, is an open-source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. It has also customer relationship management (CRM) and supplies chain management (SCM) functions. It is in contrast to proprietary or most other open source ERP solutions-driven only by a community of supporters.

Dolibarr

Odoo

Odoo is an all-time favorite, but it has many bugs, the interface is not user-friendly and Cathy. Odoo is a suite of business management software tools including, for example, CRM, e-commerce, billing, accounting, manufacturing, warehouse, project management, and inventory management.

Conclusion

I will ignore odoo here because of various reasons and one of the reasons is that odoo doesn’t have open source accounting. The accounting and Financial Module is commercial, so we can’t say that odoo is an open-source ERP.

Therefore, my selection is purely based on my experience. My top 5 choice is the following;

• ERP Next – Because it is trending since 2019 (covid19) and is fully supported till today.
• Vienna Advantage – Good community support and updates are regularly available in 2022.
• Dolibarr – Good ERP and reviews are good, not being updated regularly.
• ofBiz – Powerful but old, not been updated for the last 4 years.
• iDempiere – Interface is not catchy, the product is also not being updated regularly.
